Invisible Fencing, just say NO!

Great article - from the perspective of the person on the sidewalk. In all my years in shelter work, you'd be surprised how many stray dogs are picked up by animal control with their shock collars on. Get a real fence. It's safer for everyone.

How to Treat Mushroom Poisoning in Dogs

Watch your yards, we have been picking them before the dogs! Several in our area have died from this.

According to Dogster, those of us don’t vaccinate yearly and triennially are hysterical and ignorant.
Vets have known for nearly four decades that animals don't need to be vaccinated more than once, thanks to the tireless efforts of Dr Ronald Schultz. His research has been done on over a thousand dogs and with every major veterinary vaccine and shows that over 95% of dogs vaccinated at 16 weeks or older are protected for 7 to 15 years and likely for life.
On the other hand, there has never been any scientific validity to repeating a vaccine. Not one shred. This means that the vaccination schedules that vets use today are based on habit and assumption and not science. Please leave a comment on this site so we can all put an end to unnecessary vaccination! Help us to protect your dogs.http://bit.ly/TL3mbl

Why I Don’t Recommend Retractable Leashes

Sophia is looking for her forever home!  Can you pass this one along please?  She is a sweetie, a lover and a character.

Sophia is a local dog in need of a home, not one imported by a shelter or some of the rescues in the area.   Please adopt local dogs!

Not everything has to be bought.

Take a look at some of these homemade toy ideas - we bet local shelters would love them as donations, too! http://thebarkpost.com/3-dog-toys-you-can-make-from-things-around-the-house/

A Place Just For Dad

We may not shower him with praise
Nor mention his name in song,
And sometimes it seems that we forget
The joy he spreads along.

But it doesn't mean that we don't know
The wonderful role he's had.
And away down deep in every heart
There's a place that is just for Dad.
